The Many Emotions of Rain

Rain is a particularly emotional form of weather.
Sometimes when it’s raining and you’re indoors on your cosy, toasty couch with a good book and a hot drink you can’t help but feel blessed, content and happy. And the rain patter sounds blissful to your ears, the fat raindrops giving a new lease of life to the earth that is drinking it all up thirstily.
And yet at other times it makes everything grey, sad and melancholy, and when you look out of the window your heart aches a little for no reason and you turn away feeling an inexplicable loneliness.
Today was odd in that the rain brought a mixture of both feelings. It seemed like a typical dispondent type of rain but as I looked out upon it I felt rather at peace. And pretty damn glad to be indoors. Perhaps the upbeat outlook had something to do with it being Friday. And Friday evening at that, the best time of the week!
Having said that though, I did still have a slight pang of melancholy and pensiveness so we did the best thing for cheering anyone up on a rainy day – order delivery food! =D

I think I last had pizza last Saturday but it feels like I haven’t had any for ages. Last Saturday’s pizza was posh anyway so it didn’t count. The only kind of pizza to have for boosting spirits is a lovely, thick and fluffy pan-based cheap junk food pizza. Mmm.
Food Diary
Lunch – Brie, tomato, rocket and basil baguette. I’d been craving one since GM brought his leftover lunch baguette home one day and gave me a little rundown of the various brie baguettes available on the high street. Finally today I had one whilst out at lunch with my friend. I think I definitely prefer my brie in a sweet combination with cranberry or even some jam.
Dinner – One bowl muesli
Dessert – Two spoons ice-cream
Dinner 2 – 4 slices cheap pizza
Drinks – Peppermint tea, Diet Coke, English tea, water
Actually I think the pizza isn’t too good for my gastric system, I’m passing gas like it’s going out of style. Yikes.
