Sunny Sardinia

We were lucky with the weather in Sardinia during our trip. Before we left, I’d read that some tourists were greeted with rain and more rain during their holidays but we had nothing but blazing sun, lots of it. And beautiful blue sky. Looking back on some of these photos the sky was really extraordinarily picturesque; just like a typical artist’s depiction of bright blue sky with fluffy white clouds.

I decided not to place the pics in a grid this time so that you can clearly see the views of the island. They’re too beautiful not to be appreciated properly really.

Welcome to Sardinia!

I thought I’d better hurry up and post about our little trip to Sardinia seeing as how it’s been a couple of weeks already. I could’ve just not posted about it at all and kept it to a cursory “We went to Sardinia, and now we’re back!” but that wouldn’t be right because Sardinia needs to be talked about. Because Sardinia is beautiful.

You know how they say “a picture is worth a thousand words”? In Sardinia’s case I think that’s perfectly apt because no amount of waxing lyrical will do justice to the blue of its sky and sea nor the splendour of its architecture.

So behold.

You think the sea looks gorgeous? Well when you turn back inwards towards the Old Town it knocks you breathless too. Tall and thin buildings cramped together with tiny cobbled lanes separating them; it’s like the advancement of the ages never managed to assault the place and the quaint houses loom above one with a quiet, dignified majesty.
