It better not be raining by the time I’m meant to go out
I detest rain. Rain should be outlawed, there is nothing nice about it!
Although when I was younger and in Malaysia and Singapore I rather liked rain. After a thunderstorm the world looked plumper and cleaner in sharper colours. Over here, after a bit of rain, even a drizzle, the world just looks a more depressing shade of GREY. Plus the shit that gets all over the back of my trousers from stepping in slush, it just doesn’t bear thinking about.
Times at which raining may be permissible:
1. During night time when there is no need for us to go out in it – just so the world gets a little wash from time to time;
2. In times of drought in foreign countries – we don’t want to deprive anyone.
The above also applies to snow, only snow is also fine on Christmas Days so all of us can live out the fantasy of having white Christmases. But there should be no mess and muddy slush ensuing from said white Christmas, otherwise we’d all have really crap Boxing Days. No point having a postcard perfect Christmas with the dread of a grubby next day pressing on your mind is there?
I swear I had something else to say but I can’t for the life of me remember what at the moment. I’m having happy thoughts of my Vietnamese meal tonight! =) I swear my stomach felt emptier and my hunger keener right when I typed the words “Vietnamese meal” :O
Anyway it’s Friday evening, and all is well with me even though it probably wasn’t before (I was at work, what do you expect??), all is well with the world, and we are all happy!!
Happy Friday! (^_________^)Y
Edit: Everyone wave hi to Her who, as of today, is going to be one of my regular readers! (^___^)///

Please meet Hiroto, our new laptop :)
I am writing to you all using our new laptop! :)
I’m really pleased with it, it’s so handy to be able to surf the net and watch telly in the living room at the same time, or be able to sit in bed and write from under my duvet. And it only took one week to arrive! What a result.
Here are some pics of it
Andy also bought me some Vivienne Westwood earrings the other day :) I was going to buy them for myself but he said he’d buy them for me, how nice :)
And here they are on me!

It’s apparently going to be very cold tonight and tomorrow. But at the moment the heating is on full blast so I’m feeling very warm. Hopefully tomorrow won’t be too bad because we’re planning to do a little bit of Christmas shopping. Or more specifically, I want to buy a little Christmas tree for our windowsill! And decorate it with lots of really beautiful, tasteful baubles and other decorations *____*

G for Gorgeous
I’m sat at work with aching body parts, eating an apple, hopefully writing a post for this blog. (I say “hopefully” because I don’t know whether my work pc will allow me to send this, but we’ll see).
Ouch. I just got up to get some more water and my calves hurt to f*ck. It’s from all the standing and jumping around I did last night at the My Chemical Romance gig. Which incidentally was brilliant.
We thought we got there late but in fact we were actually really early seeing as how we found ourselves very near the front of the stage. Which is both a good and bad thing. The good bit is obvious. The bad bit is, the front is always filled up with die-hard fans who’re willing to jab anyone to death with their elbows just to have a closer look at their god/goddess. Which in this case is god in the guise of Gerard Way, who really actually is very charismatic, goodlooking and sexy, and not at all podgy in real life. With very very good make-up.
So we had to stand through the support act’s little set, which wasn’t really so little seeing as how they must have played about 6 – 8 songs, I can’t quite remember, they all sound the same. Suffice to say it felt long, although they weren’t as bad as I’d expected (“they” being the band Mindless Self Indulgence), in fact they were actually rather good and their bass player Lyn Z is my new idol. She looked cool playing the bass and doing mad leaps into the air from time to time, and chucking herself into the audience only to disappear for several minutes in the end. She’s married to Gerard Way, and I thoroughly approve. They’re both as fantastic as each other.
When MSI’s set finished the shoving began in earnest. All the little emo children really wanted to see their heros up-close and started practising what they’d learn at home: “If I want something I’m going to be an asshole and hopefully someone will give it to me”. Normally “someone” is mummy and daddy, but last night unfortunately it was me. Not that I can’t jab elbows and kick shins with the best of them.
I was really amazed when Gerard Way came on stage. As I’d previously mentioned, I sort of thought he was a bit squidgy with cool make-up. In actual fact he’s fit and lean looking with fantastic make-up. I’m majorly impressed.
After a couple of songs, my shoelaces got untied in the scrum, it was impossible to stand or dance or enjoy the music as we were caught up in a huge human wave of pushed left, pushed right, I was sandwiched between people in sweat-drenched hoodies and behind a man in a huge jacket (I call him “the bear man”) and perspiring buckets myself. So I decided to move back out of the madness, especially as I didn’t want to get caught up in the moshing if a pit formed like it did at the Diru gig. Which was an inspired and brilliant move because in the back (actually the middle, just that we were so up front previously moving back felt like we were practically at the back of the arena) people were civilised! And the air smelt like air-con and not a thousand different types of bo meshed into one!
Luckily MCR only started playing all our favourite songs when we’d moved so we were able to really watch them and jump and dance ourselves silly. Gerard has wonderful stage presence, very enigmatic in a way and delivered a really energetic and solid performance. The band was good too, the guitar particularly was brilliant. I’d watch them again. But for now, I have Plain White T’s and Linkin Park in January to look forward to. Yay.
So my old bones are aching and I have to attend a birthday party tonight. And one tomorrow night. It’s going to be a busy weekend.

I ♥ Fridays! *(^_____________________^)*
I’m listening to Jay Chou’s cowboy song and it’s the ultimate in whatthefuckery. What was the man thinking?! Although I like the line “Pi jiu shang shen ti” (beer is bad for the health) haha. But seriously, I would like to see the music video to this song, I imagine him dancing like a fool, kicking his heels back like a donkey HAHA. Stupid song.
I know Joanne and Diana (if they read this) will probably be thinking, “Why are you updating this blog rather than your Japanese trip one?!” haha. I’m sick of writing about things I’ve already done so I’m taking a little break from that at the moment. Plus, the next day (day 11) is quite a long one so I’m lazy.
We bought tickets to see Linkin Park in January!!! I’m so excited although I was decidedly underwhelmed by their latest album, but hopefully they will play some old stuff too. Anyway it’s been a burning ambition of mine to see them since I fell in love with some of their best songs (like “Faint” which is my favourite) and I’m finally going to, yay.
And we’re going to see My Chemical Romance next Thursday. That’s even more exciting for me because I actually really love their latest album so it’s guaranteed I’m going to enjoy the concert huge amounts.
Haha, Andy just got out of the bath and I was talking to him about Jay Chou’s latest, telling him the album title in Chinese and he said, “What does that mean, does he not think that we’re busy too?!” hahaha! It’s true, I’m getting quite sick of Jay Chou, he’s so 2003. And you actually get the feeling he’s quite up himself. He probably thinks he’s something special when all his songs sound the same these days. Even the lyrics are getting samey, Vincent Fang is slipping.
Anyway overall verdict on Jay’s new album is: boring.
Favourite song: the slow one at number 2.
Worst song: there are so many – tracks 1, 4, 6…….. I’m only up to track 6 so far hehe.
Back to Andy. Haha. Today he came home with a gift from his workmates. Remember he was supposed to leave his present company for another one? In the end he decided to stay after his present bosses offered him even more money than the other company. But in the meantime, he’d already told his closest mates at work that he was leaving, AND also hinted to them what leaving present he wanted (o_____O) I know, shocking. Well, they’d gotten a collection round, and they bought the gift!!! So they gave it to him anyway even though he’s staying after all. So he’s chuffed! Hahaha.
I’m not liking track 7 neither. It’s so typical Jay Chou stylee no tune song. Give me a break. With those silly “Woo!”s he likes to do. What are those? Owl mating calls? (But I think Andy’s going to like this one).
I quite liked track 8 (apart from the talking in the beginning which is trés tedious and typical), but then the girls started and I just have visions of this music video shot in dim surroundings, with Jay pimpin’ it up Jay-Z style on a big all-leather couch, complete with big sunglasses, trilby and gold accessories and white suit, surrounded by girls in skimpy hot pink cheerleader outfits with gold pompoms doing their thang. PUHLEEZ. If he actually shoots a video like that I will never listen to another one of his songs again (although that probably doesn’t mean very much to him seeing as how it doesn’t make much difference to his wallet one way or another hehehe).
I really like track 9. It’s so sweet and happy. I’m sure Andy is going to dislike it for those reasons hahaha!
Btw, I have to talk about the songs according to track numbers because I am lazy to open up my Chinese reader so I have no idea what their titles are! Haha.
I also like track 10 (or perhaps I am getting used again to his straining). It’s very typical emo Jay-ish, but the tune is different enough to be quite fresh and yet familiar and comforting at the same time, like revisiting an old favourite restaurant with a revamped menu. Although the lyrics “Ji yi jie chen bing” are grating on my nerves because I’m sure he’s used that in one of his old songs and it really stands out like a sore thumb.
Oh and that’s the end of his album! I’m quite amused by how this post turned into a mini Jay Chou’s latest album review hahaha.
Okay so my picks are tracks 2, 9 and 10! The rest should be avoided, ESP track 4, it’s the absolute worst, he sounds like he has nasal congestion and like a consummate prat in it. And the tune isn’t even nice. It’s like the title track to some tvb police academy drama. My eardrums are collapsing onto themselves.
Maybe I should do more album reviews! I really enjoyed writing this post hehehe! Write me comments har.
Edit: Actually on second listen, track 6 is quite Linkin Park-esque so I think I might grow to like it. Although it hasn’t got a great tune I must say. But I take it off the “absolute worst” list.
2nd Edit: Oh my god! I wrote that edit before I got to the “dragon music” part and his high pitched girly screams. Okay no, back onto “tracks to avoid” list for track 6. Why did he have to spoil it with the 2 secs of “Let’s jazz it up chinese stylee so I can hopefully wear a chinese top and do lots of CG graphic-ed kungfu in my music video”??? Does he not think we know what he’s playing at? The fool.
3rd Edit: If someone could tell me what track 9 is about I’d be very grateful. Because with my Chinese and Jay’s bad diction, I’m not really catching many of the lyrics. I’m also VERY amused by the “Jiu!” noise he makes at 1:16 hahaha! What’s that?!?!
4th Edit: I had to listen to the “dragon music” part again. And I realised it’s more like Indian music. Maybe he’s celebrating Deepavali too HAHAHA! Or perhaps he wants to shoot a music video wearing a turban.
