In Japan
I don`t believe I`ve been away for so long and none of you left me any messages!!!
Anyway, I`m at an internet cafe at the moment. More specifically, in a posh-ish cafe in Float Court, Umeda, Osaka. We`re waiting to take the Shinkansen to Kyoto at 12:19pm ; our Osaka stay is over! Quite sad, I like Osaka. From here on in, we`ll be in Kyoto, Yokohama, Hakone, then Tokyo. I`m quite sad that a whole week has already gone by, before I know it, I`ll be back in England, at work. How depressing.
Which is why, whilst I`m here I`m going to try to make the most of it. I didn`t really last week because I had really bad jet lag and was sleepy and tired all the time, except at night when I`d go to bed at 10pm and wake up at 12 midnight thinking I`d slept till morning, and then proceed to lie awake the entire night. Very tiring. But luckily the jet lag is over (I think), so from now on I am going to have a great time.
Unfortunately, as a result of my jet lag, I haven`t been able to eat very much! I`m sure Jo and Di are very sad about this hahaha. I am as well. But tonight I will be having a really nice dinner (I hope), at my Kyoto ryokan, which costs a bomb, so for that price it better be good. It`s the traditional kaiseki dinner the Kyotoites specialise in. Mmm, can`t wait!!
We were in Miyajima yesterday! That was quite an adventure. In fact, we`ve been having quite a few adventures, quite fun haha. I will tell you all about it when I get back, but as a taster, let me just say, Miyajima = mould + fish smell hahaha.
Okay I better go, this stupid Japanese keypad is driving me bonkers Because It keeps trying to switch to Japanese so before I know it I`m typing a whole bunch of Japanese words.
Okay bye!!!

Be a Sinner, Not a Winner
We’re off to Japan soon!!! Very soon in fact, the day after tomorrow.
I’m getting really excited, and so is Andy I think. He’s been looking up eletronics shops around where we’re staying in each city hahaha.
I was getting a bit stressed at work today though, thinking of all the things I had to do today in preparation for the trip, which were:-
1) Do some last-minute shopping after work for a t-shirt Andy wants, and a pair of shoes I want
2) Clean the bath (cos it was getting dirty and I want to come back to a clean house, not a mouldfest)
3) Do the laundry (although I’d just done a few loads last weekend, I thought I’d do one last one before we leave so that it’s manageable when we get back)
4) Call my credit card company to tell them I am going on holiday and might be using my card abroad (this is in case I actually use my card and my credit card company declines the transaction due to security reasons)
5) Call our ryokan in Hakone to reconfirm (otherwise they’ll cancel our booking and then we’ll be stuffed, standing in the middle of the mountains with no room for the night hahaha)
So far I’ve done points 1 to 4 so I’m really relieved and pleased with myself. We will have to call the ryokan tonight when it’s morning their time.
Which leaves only the packing! Which is perhaps the most important task haha.
I spent most of the work day today printing out directions to places and tips on lovely things to do in different cities haha. That was enjoyable! =D
